Privacy Policy
Effective June 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Trajecta ("Trajecta," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and college-admissions planning service (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Profile content you provide. The information you enter to use the Service — including your courses, grades and test scores, activities and awards, essays and drafts, college list, and your goals and interests.
- Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Usage and device data. Log and analytics data such as your browser and device type, pages viewed, and interactions, collected to operate and improve the Service.
- Cookies and local storage. Used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
- Communications. Information you provide when you contact us for support.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, personalize, and improve the Service;
- Generate AI-assisted guidance, feedback, and recommendations from the content you provide;
- Create and manage your account and process subscriptions and billing;
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Service;
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
3. AI processing of your content
Core features of the Service (such as essay feedback, activity analysis, and recommendations) work by sending content you provide to third-party AI providers — currently Anthropic (Claude) — that process it and return results to you. We do not permit your personal data or content to be used to train those providers' AI models. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and should not be relied on as professional advice — see our Terms of Service.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:
- Service providers (subprocessors) who help us run the Service, including Supabase (authentication and database hosting), Render (application and backend hosting), Stripe (payment processing), Vercel (website hosting and analytics), Resend (transactional and notification email), and the third-party AI providers (Anthropic) described above. They may process your information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety. When required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Trajecta, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. Aggregated and de-identified data
We may create and use anonymized or aggregated data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you — for example, to analyze usage, improve the Service and our models, and share insights. This data is not personal information.
6. Data retention and deletion
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and associated data at any time from within the Service or by emailing support@trajecta.me. After you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information and do not retain it, except where we must keep limited records to comply with legal obligations.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children and minors
The Service is intended for users 13 years of age or older. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact support@trajecta.me and we will delete it.
9. Your choices and rights
You can access and update your account information within the Service, and you can request deletion of your data as described above. To make a privacy request, email support@trajecta.me.
California residents. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion of your personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise these rights, email support@trajecta.me.
10. Where we operate
The Service is operated in and intended for users in the United States. It is not directed to individuals outside the United States.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
