Terms of Service
Effective June 1, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website and college-admissions planning service (the "Service") provided by Trajecta ("Trajecta," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
2. The Service
Trajecta provides AI-assisted tools for college-admissions planning, including direction and major guidance, weekly "missions," essay feedback, activity and coursework analysis, and college-fit recommendations. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time.
3. Plans, billing, and cancellation
- We offer a free plan and one or more paid plans. The features and limits of each plan (including any limits on the free plan) are described on our Pricing section.
- Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor (Stripe) and automatically renew at the then-current price for the same term until you cancel.
- You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops the next renewal and takes effect at the end of your current billing period, after which you will not be charged again. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
- We may change prices or plan features for future billing periods; we will provide notice as required by law. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
4. Your content and license
You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service, including your profile information and essays ("Your Content"). You grant Trajecta a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display Your Content — including by sending it to third-party AI providers — solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service. You represent that you have the rights to submit Your Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party right. You may delete Your Content as described in our Privacy Policy. We may also create and use anonymized or aggregated data derived from use of the Service as described in that Policy.
5. AI features and important disclaimers
- Features of the Service are generated using artificial intelligence and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or otherwise unsuitable. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any output.
- Trajecta does not guarantee admission, scholarships, financial aid, or any particular outcome.
- The Service is for informational purposes only and is not professional, legal, financial, or guidance-counseling advice. Always confirm deadlines, requirements, and policies with official sources and the institutions you apply to.
- You are solely responsible for your applications and for academic integrity — any essays or materials you submit to schools must be your own work.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract source code from the Service;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our permission;
- Use the Service or its output to build or train a competing product or model;
- Upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content, or interfere with the Service's operation or security.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, content, and the Trajecta name and logos, is owned by Trajecta and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, and AI providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content licenses for anonymized data, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trajecta will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Dispute resolution and arbitration
Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights. If a dispute arises, you agree to first contact us at support@trajecta.me and attempt to resolve it informally for at least 30 days. If we cannot resolve it, you and Trajecta agree to resolve any dispute through binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. You and Trajecta waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing us within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to Section 12, the state and federal courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
